    Transavia Airlines Baggage Allowance

Sorting out the Transavia baggage allowance can be overwhelming at times - we get it. Fret not! To save you time and effort, we’re bringing you a brief and comprehensive explanation of Transavia's baggage policy. Just a quick 10 minutes of reading, and you will know full well how to be best prepared for your flight.

    Overview of Transavia

Established in 1965, the budget airline Transavia is a subsidiary of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and also the Netherlands’ second-largest airline.

Transavia Airlines has been a leader in hospitality, service, and digital services for the past few years. Plus, it has offered a variety of low-cost fares for both business and leisure travellers as well.

With six home bases located in the Netherlands and France, Transavia operates flights to more than 20 other countries in Europe and the Mediterranean.

    Transavia Hand Luggage Allowance

Transavia allows an additional cabin bag for a fee.

Transavia doesn’t have Business class. The aviation company offers four Economy packages (Basic, Smart, Plus, and Max), all of which come with different benefits and restrictions.

Each passenger travelling on Transavia Airlines’ flight gets to bring one hand luggage on board free of charge.

Standard Hand luggage and Cabin bag

Passengers are allowed to bring one piece of hand luggage, placed under the seat in front with a maximum size of 16 × 12 × 8 in (40 x 30 x 20 cm), such as a small backpack (28L underseat bag) or handbag.

If booked and paid in advance, you get to bring a cabin bag (22 x 16 x in / 55 x 40 x 25 cm) like a trolley or travel bag. During the flight, it should be placed in the overhead compartment.

The maximum weight for both hand luggage and cabin bag must not exceed 22 lbs (10 kg).

Besides, you can also bring an umbrella, a walking stick, and one duty-free shopping bag on board.

Note: There’s only room for the first 70 pieces of hand luggage in the cabin; the rest will be transported as checked luggage at no additional charge. MAX ticket passengers’ hand baggage is guaranteed to be settled in the cabin.

Transavia Carry-on Baggage Allowance for Infants & Children

Transavia Airlines offers no carry-on baggage allowance for infants and children travelling on your lap. If you would like to bring baby food or breast milk on board, you must include it in your hand luggage.

Ensure they are subject to certain requirements; otherwise, you may need to leave the items behind before you get on the plane.

Note: You may also bring a collapsible stroller up to 10 kg (22 lbs), but only as checked baggage. Read more about luggage allowances for babies and children on Transavia’s main website.

    Transavia Checked baggage allowance

Since Transavia doesn’t offer any free slots for checked baggage, you need to book your hold luggage before you check in for an additional fee.

Generally, the price for pre-paid hold bag fees for a one-way trip is between 31-€87. The fares for each lot may vary depending on the luggage weight and flight route.

Should you choose to pay, bear in mind the following requirement:

    • Maximum weight per passenger: up to a total of 19.6lbs (50kg)

    • Maximum number of bags: up to 5 pieces

    • Maximum weight per bag: up to 12.5 (32kg).

Tip: Transavia Airlines' luggage prices for extra baggage are lower when purchased online.

    H2. Excess Baggage Policy

As mentioned above, Transavia doesn’t have any baggage allowance for checked bags, so all luggage is considered “extra” in Transavia.
