City Focus - Florence
Nestled in the Italian region of Tuscany sits Florence. A city of incredible architecture and beauty. Florence is the birthplace of Renaissance. The streets are lined with examples of Medieval, Roman and Gothic architecture. It's home to the Uffizi gallery and the Ponte Vecchio and is a must see if you visit Italy.
The Ponte Vecchio ("Old Bridge") spans the Arno river and still has shops that you can browse for souvenirs.
The Florence Baptistery is a religious building and one of the oldest in Florence. It was constructed between 1059 and 1128 in the Florentine Romanesque style.
Wander the streets of Florence to soak in the culture and admire the architecture.
Giotto's Campanile is part of a complex of buildings that make up Florence Cathedral in the Piazza del Duomo.
Old meets new in the form of an exhibit by the Belgian artist Jan Fabre. "Searching for Utopia" is part of a series of works that are being displayed in Florence until October 2nd 2016.
The interior to the Florence Cathedral is every bit as spectacular as the exterior.
There's no better way to see the city than an organised bike tour around Florence.
